Egypt, March 2018

On the first day of the spring, Kyiv was frozen and covered with the snow. My mom and I were finishing with our last-minute suitcase packing, trying to order a taxi despite the overly high traffic on the roads. And finally, we are sitting in the car on our way to the airport, ready to get rid of all warm clothes just in several hours.
4-hour long charter flight brought us straight to Sharm el-Sheikh. The idea of switching from winter to summer so fast still feels like a pure magic for me.
We spent 4,5 days in Egypt swimming in the sea, eating ice-cream, drinking cocktails, watching colorful fish in the amazingly clear water, chilling in front of the azure pools without leaving our hotel.
Hotel
We stayed in Reef Oasis Blue Bay, which is formally a five-star hotel. Technically it looks like a 5*, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Spectacular territory, tidy flower beds, beautiful palms and 4 clean pools. But when we just moved in to our room it was not fully ready. Well, it was clean but there were no drinking water, no beach towels, no shampoo, and shower gel. As it was a late night we decided to wait for the room service in the morning, but unfortunately, it took us a whole day of calls to reception to get everything we need.
All meals in the hotel were already included in the price. Food was fine - some meat, fish or chicken, some vegan dishes, a range of vegetables and fruits.
The hotel has its own beach area. There’s a lot of place for sunbathing but the swimming area is pretty small. The best thing is a pontoon over the reefs where you can dive and see the wonderful underwater world even with a pair of simple swimming glasses.
